Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz has become guest editor for the French edition of Vogue magazine.
The Spanish actress has left the movie sets for several days to devote her attention to the new activity. This will, however, be just temporary work and will end with the next issue of the magazine that will hit the stands here Friday.
'We've wanted to work with Penelope Cruz for a long time. Is it necessary to explain why?' permanent editor Carine Roitfeld said.
The May issue edited by Cruz will feature three different covers from which buyers will be able to choose. It presents varied content where fashion does not exactly predominate, she said.
Cruz, meanwhile, said it has been 'an extraordinary adventure' and she was grateful for the freedom given her by the magazine.
Proceeds from sales of the Cruz issue will go to the RED anti-AIDS project in Africa.
