If your looking an ultra fast camera to catch a speeding bullet or playback water droplets in slow motion then Vision Research’s Phantom Flex camera might be worth a look. Capturing footage at a unbelievable 2,800 fps if need. Check out the video of it filming lightning after the jump.
The new Phantom Flex allows you to capture 1080p images at up to 2,800fps with 1000 ISO sensitivity and gives you the ability to use the huge scales to create and capture your perfect footage. Allowing you to shoot at 2560 x 1600 at 1,560fps, or faster at 640 x 480 at 13,000fps or even slower down to 5fps.
The Flex has a built in 16 or 32Gb memory but you will need considerably more storage at these fps so the flex allows you to use hot-swappable SSD modules for extra storage.
Unfortunately there’s no news on availability or price at this moment.
