She had the esteemed honor of singing “Waka Waka” at the FIFA World Cup Kick Off Celebration and Shakira couldn’t have been happier.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was spotted backstage at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa looking fit and fine as she chatted with the press.
And it sounds like Shakira has lots of hope that the World Cup can help to foster growth among the world’s education systems.
She commented, "(The World Cup is) a great opportunity to bring all the attention to issues as important as education. 72 million kids around the world (are) not able to attend school, of which 32 million are African. So this is our chance to make this World Cup's lasting legacy education for all."
