During the Sunday (24), an official blog post from Dutch Microsoft said that Windows 8 would be scheduled to be released in two years. However, the information was not correct or at least should not have ended up on the blog.
Comments on Windows 8 appeared after a post for the 1st anniversary of Seven, celebrated last week. In the early hours of Monday the stretch of the post that made reference to Windows 8 was taken down, leaving information about Service Pack 1 for Windows 7, due in the first half of 2011.
The initial post about the operating system successor to Windows 7 said that Microsoft is working on the next version of Windows that would be available on the market in about two years.
A presentation was leaked onto the Internet in June this year, suggesting that the next version of Windows will have a very similar to the App Store that Apple and other mobile devices offer. This week, Apple announced that Mac will get an application store within 90 days.
For now, Microsoft has yet to speak about the post on the official blog of the company in Holland.
