Jim Tressel Is Leaving Ohio State

Jim Tressel might have had a Christmas that was a bit less cheerful as usual yesterday as fresh off of a number of his players being suspended for the first five games of next season, he was the subject of rumors yesterday that he was leaving the program after the Sugar Bowl.

The original report was posted on the Chicago Now website and then was quickly shot down by numerous sources, including Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith tweeted that it wasn't true. It certainly would have been sudden and shocked a lot of people.

Tressel is synonymous with Ohio State football at this point and even though he hasn't won a national championship in a while, he has kept the Buckeyes in the national spotlight every single season.
