Wyclef Jean was the victim of a shooting this weekend in Haiti.
The former member of the Fugues, Wyclef Jean singer, was shot and wounded Saturday night (March 19) in Port-au-Prince, as he had its support to presidential candidate Michel Martelly.
John was in a car with two friends, rapper Busta Rhymes and producer Jimmy Rosemond, when the vehicle was riddled with bullets. The two friends of the singer were not affected, but John was slightly wounded in the right hand.
"We talked with Wyclef and it goes well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, "wrote his impresario on Twitter yesterday (March 20).
The circumstances surrounding the attack which the singer was the victim remains unclear. Remember however that in 2009, Wyclef Jean had received death threats when he announced his candidacy for the presidential election in Haiti. Then, last November, he again tried to stand, but was disqualified because it remains primarily in New Jersey.
Since that time, John is supporting the candidate Michel Martelly.
