There was a time when we were hearing about new netbooks from different manufacturers every day, this seems to have changed and companies seem to be announcing new tablets on almost a daily basis.

HP is one company who is still launching new netbooks, the latest one is designed to be used by mobile professional, the HP Mini 1103 netbook.

The HP Mini 1103 Netbook features a 10.1 inch LCD backlit WVSFA display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, you get a choice of either an Intel N455 or N475 processor, up to 2GB of RAM and Intel GMA 3150 graphics.

Other specifications on the HP Mini 1103 netbook include a choice of either a three cell or six cell battery, three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, VGA, a microphone and headphone port, integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS.

There is also optional 3G broadband and GPS, and it will be available later this month with prices starting at $299.

Today’s trendy deal will appeal to all the gaming fans out there, the Dell Alienware M11x Core i5 laptop which is available for $949, a discount of $210 off the manufacturers recommended retail price.

The Alienware M11x features an 11.6 inch LCD display and it is capable of playing all games and media in HD at 720p, and comes with NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M graphics.

Lenovo has added another ultra portable laptop to its range with the launch of the 12.5 inch IdeaPad U260. The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 features a 12.5 inch display, and as you can see from the photo it is designed to be portable, measuring just 0.71 inches thick and weighing in at 3.04lbs.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 comes with a choice of Intel ULVC Core i3 and Core i5 processors, there is also a four cell battery, two USB ports, and 4GB of RAM.

Other specifications includes 320GB hard drive, integrated 801.22 b/g/n WiFi, VGA, HDMI. There are no details on pricing or a release date as yet.

LG X170: Another Netbook Added by LG to Its Range - - With Choice of Intel Atom N455 Single Core or Intel Atom 1.5GHz N550 Dual Core Processor

LG has added another netbook to its range with the launch of the LG X170, which comes with a choice of either an Intel Atom N455 single core or Intel Atom 1.5GHz N550 Dual Core processor.
It also features a choice of a 10.1 inch HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 or a standard display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, and it also allows you to access your smartphone, including SMS and making calls from the netbook.

Other specifications include 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics. It will be available in Korea shortly for about $600, there are no details as yet on when it will be available in the US and Europe.

HP G62m: New Budget Notebook From HP Ready to Ship - - Price Range Starting from $429.99

HP has announced that it is now shipping a new budget notebook in time for the holiday shopping season. The new notebook is called the HP G62m series and it is a basic machine with a price of $429.99 to start with. The machine has several options that will drive the price up over the starting point.

The notebook runs a variety of Intel Celeron processors with options including the Celeron 900, T3300, and T3500. The notebook can be fitted with up to 4GB of RAM and storage up to 500GB. Graphics are Intel GMA 4500M with HDMI out and VGA outputs.

The screen of the notebook is a 15.6-inch LED backlit unit with a resolution of 1366 x 768. The optical drive includes an 8x DVD burner or an optional LightScribe enabled drive. Other features include a memory card reader, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

Message to all those who think tablets will be the future of computing – maybe not. I’ve been playing around with one of the new generation of netbooks for the past month, the Asus 1005PE, and it’s a revelation. What makes it exciting is not the performance, although it’s certainly good enough to get most tasks done on a day to day basis, or even the cool black ultra portable design.

It’s the basic fact that with a battery life that’s measured in days, you end up thinking about computing in a whole different way. Days you say, how so? Well although the battery is rated at max 14 hours, in real life you don’t sit in front of the computer solidly all day. You take breaks, eat, sleep, you know, that sort of thing.

So the result is you can happily leave your power cable at home for a weekend jaunt, and be fairly confident you won’t exhaust your power before you return. Now there are exceptions to every rule, so if you’re watching back to back DVDs on an external drive and surfing IMDB constantly at the same time, your battery is going to suffer, but from my experience, these new netbooks are just perfect for everyday ’sling in a bag, use anywhere’ computing.

It boots up really quickly from standby, Windows 7 is solid and fast and the keyboard is more than good enough for rapid typing needs. What you find yourself doing is carrying the thing around from location to location, just in case you need to do some heavy lifting that a mobile phone can’t. I never switch it off, just leave it on standby – which seems to consume almost no power – which means it’s ready to use in around 12 seconds.

And you have to remember that this netbook currently sells for a very reasonable $327.00 (or £290.00) there on Amazon, which makes it a direct competitor for tablet computers which don’t have half the flexibility or power. The spec of the thing includes 1GB RAM, 2 x USB ports, RJ45, WiFi, webcam and mic, 250GB hard drive, Bluetooth and a built in memory card reader. In fact the only thing I’ve found to be a little clumsy is the trackpad, which could do with a better scroll function.

If you’re in the market for a new computer for travelling or living room use, I recommend you check one of these puppies out in your evaluation. You may be surprised as to how useful it could be.

The HP Mini 210 also comes with a 250GB hard drive, a 3G modem, and integrated 802.11 b/g WiFi, plus Ethernet. It comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition and is available now from Verizon.

Acer Aspire Timeline 1825PT - - Features An 11.6 Inch Multi-touch, Swivel LCD Display

Acer has added another convertible notebook to its range with the launch of the Acer Aspire Timeline 1825PT. The Acer Aspire Timeline 1825PT features an 11.6 inch multi-touch, swivel LCD display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

Processing comes in the form of an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and graphics is provided by integrated Intel 3500MHD graphics, memory is in the form of up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

The Acer Aspire Timeline 1825PT also features integrated 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, a web camera, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and the choice of either a 250GB or 320GB hard drive.

The Acer Aspire Timeline 1825PT will come with Windows 7 home Premium and prices start at £599, about $886.

CX620MX and the MSI CX420MX - - Two Multimedia Notebooks Added by MSI

MSI has added two new multimedia notebooks to its C series range with the launch of the MSI CX620MX and the MSI CX420MX. The MSI CX620MX features a 15.6 inch HD LCD display with a resolution of1366 x 768 pixels.

Processing is provided by Intel Core processors and an Intel HM55 chipset, there is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD545v graphics card with 512MB of DDR3 VRAM and a choice of 250GB, 320GB and 500GB hard drives.

Other specifications include a four in one card reader, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 1.3 megapixel web camera, HDMI, D-sub, two USB 2.0 ports, eSATA and a microphone and headphone port.

The MSI CX420MX features almost identical specifications, although it comes with a smaller 14 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

There are no details on when these new MSI multimedia notebooks will go on sale, and also no details on how much they will retail for.

HP Probook 4425s - - First Notebook From HP to Feature AMD’s New Quad Core Processor

HP has added a new notebook to its range with the launch of the HP Probook 4425s. The Probook 4425s is the first notebook from HP to feature AMD’s new quad core processor.

The HP Probook 4425s features a 14 inch LCD display, and an AMD Phenom II Quad Core P920 1.6GHz processor, this is also the option of a couple of dual core processors as well.

You can have up to 8GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM, a choice of either a 250GB or 500GB hard drive, graphics is provided by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics card.

Other specification include three USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA/USB combo, VGA, HDMI, audio in and out and a multi format card reader.

Prices start at $699 and the HP Probook 4425S is available now from HP.

Endeavor Na03 Mini: New Netbook Launched by Epson - - Features a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 Processor, And Graphics Provided by Intel GMA 3150 Graphics

Epson has launched a new netbook, the Endeavor Na03 Mini. The Epson Endeavor Na03 Mini features a 10.1 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600.

Processing comes in the form of a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 processor, and graphics is provided by Intel GMA 3150 graphics, there is also 1GB of RAM and a choice of either a 250GB hard drive or a 64GB solid state drive.

The Epson Endeavor Na03 Mini also features integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, optional Bluetooth, 10/100 LAN, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA, an SD card slot and audio in and out.

It comes with a 5600mAh six cell battery which will give you up to eight hours of usage or a 2800mAh three cell battery as standard which will give you up to 4.1 hours of usage, plus Windows 7 Starter Edition.

It looks like it will only be available in Japan at the moment for 39,900 YEN which is about $300, there are no details on whether it will arrive in the US and Europe.

Dell Inspiron M301z: Ultra Portable Notebook From Dell - - Measures Less Than One Inch Thick And Weighs in at Under 1KG

Dell has added another new notebook to its Inspiron range with the launch of the Dell Inspiron M301z. The Dell Inspiron M301z is designed to be an ultra portable notebook and it measures less than one inch thick and weighs in at under 1KG.

The Dell Inspiron M301z comes with a choice of AMD Athlon II Dual core processors, either a 1.3GHz model or a 1.5GHz model. Memory comes in the form of up to 4GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM.

Other specifications include a 13.3 inch widescreen HD LCD display, integrated ATI mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics, and a 320GB hard drive as standard. There is also 802.11 b/g WiFi plus Bluetooth 2.1

The Dell Inspiron M301z also features two USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA port, HDMI, and 10/100 LAN, plus a 7 in 1 card reader and a microphone and headphone port.

The Dell Inspiron M301z comes with Microsoft Windows 7 and prices start at $999, they are available now direct from Dell.

Processing come in the form of an Intel Core i5 processor, memory is up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and graphics is provided by NVIDIA 310M discrete graphics.

The MSI CX623 multimedia notebook comes with a choice of either a 320GB or 500GB hard drive, there is also a 1.3 megapxiel web camera, integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1

It also comes with a four in one card reader, HDMI, D-sub, two USB 2.0 ports, e-SATA, microphone in and headphones out, plus an RJ-45 port.

If your looking for something a little stronger than the run-of-the-mill plastic notebooks out there the new carbon fiber ASUS Eee PC R101 might be worth a look. This new model has been spotted on a German e-tailers site. Its not the first Eee PC to be seen sporting a carbon fiber finish but its likely more are on there way from ASUS.

This new ASUS model is powered by a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor has a 250GB hard drive, 10.1-inch LCD with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics and a battery that’s designed to last for 9.5 hours.

Processing comes in the form of Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors and there is also an NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 1GB graphics card, and the choice of either 2GB of 4GB of RAM.

Other specifications on the Samsung P580 include integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, four USB 2.0 ports, and an eSATA port.

Processing comes in the form of an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and there is also a 500GB hard drive, and graphics is provided by a ATI Radeon HD54V discrete graphics card.

Other specifications include HDMI, three USB ports, VGA out and Ethernet ports, The MSI CX705MX Notebook will come with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.

As yet there are no details on when the MSI CX705MX Notebook will hit the stores and also no details on pricing.

Asus Eee PC 900AX: New Addition to Asus Eee PC Range - - Features Windows 7 Home Starter Edition

The majority of netbook’s that have been released recently have all featured larger screens than the original Asus Eee PC, with the most common screen size being 10.1 inches and some up to 12 inches.

Asus has released details of a new netbook that will feature an 8.9 inch display just like the original Eee, the Asus Eee 900AX.

The Asus Eee 900AX will get its processing power for an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, plus 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 160GB hard drive, on top of that there is also a four cell battery which will give you up to four hours of usage.

Other specifications include two USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, audio in and out, and the 8.9 inch display will feature a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels, there is also 802.11 b.g WiFi.

The Asus Eee PC 900AX will come with Windows 7 Home Starter Edition, there are no details on pricing as yet, although we expect this to be priced at the cheaper end of the Asus Eee PC range.

Another gaming Notebook from MSI; the MSI GE600 features an Intel Core i5 processor , and it comes with an ATI Radeon HD5730 graphics card with 1GB of DDR3 VRAM, and a 16 inch HD TFT LCD display with a resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The MSI GE600 comes with a choice of hard drive sizes from 250GB, 320GB and 500GB, and it features HDMI out, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi.

Prices on the MSI GE600 Gaming Notebook start at $899 and they are available from a number of retailers including New Egg.

'DP312 Smart Top' Unveiled by Onkyo - - Runs Windows 7 Home Premium and Uses an Intel Atom N270

Say Onkyo and I immediately start thinking about home theater receivers not computers. With the economy being tough over the last year or so and netbooks and nettops selling like crazy Onkyo stepped into the computer market a while back.

Onkyo is unveiling a new nettop today called the DP312 Smart Top. The machine is debuting in Japan and there is no word on if it will land anywhere else right now. The machine sports NVIDIA ION graphics, which means it supports 1080p resolution HD video.

It runs Windows 7 Home Premium and uses an Intel Atom N270. The little machine also has an optical drive and should make for quite a nice little HTPC rig. Other features include up to 4GB of RAM and up to 500GB of storage space.

eX-L 15 Gaming Notebook Updated by Maingear - - Features Intel Core i5 and Core i7 Processor

Maingear has updated its eX-L 15 Gaming Notebook that was featured on the web back in August last year, with Intel’s new Core i5 and Core i5 processors.

The Maingear eX-L15 features a 15 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 which means it can do Full HD video in 1080p. It comes with an ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards and support for Direct X11.

There is also a choice of a range of hard drives from 250GB up to 750GB and a choice of solid state drive (SSD) from 80GB up to 512GB. Processing comes from a choice of Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processor, and it you get the choice of either 4GB or 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

Other specifications include a DVD or Blu-ray drive, DVI, HDMi and S/PDIF audio out, there is also four USB 2.0 ports, a web camera, eSATA and Firewire.

Pricing on the Maingear eX-L 15 starts at $1,599 but if you go for the top end model with all the options you are looking at close to $4,500.
