Rihanna spends over 3000 a day on booze!

Rihanna is said to have drunk her way through her relaxing no-expense-spared holiday to St Tropez, Cannes and Italy’s Portofino and Sardinia.

The 23-year-old singer splashed out 200,000 pounds to hire a yacht for herself and her pals, drinking the boat dry by spending almost 3000 pounds a day on Champagne and meals as well as tipping waiters around 100 euros a time.

“The crew ordered the maximum amount of Laurent-Perrier Champagne they thought a few girls could down in a week, but they drank it all in just over a day,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“By midday on Monday they had sunk 12 bottles."

“On their nights out they ordered Moet and Chandon Champagne, Grey Goose vodka and Red Bull, each bill going into thousands,” the source stated.

The Barbadian R and B recording artist is finally back after her relaxing holiday, and is expected at the MTV Music Video Awards in LA.

Rihanna named woman of the year

Singer Rihanna has been named woman of the year by Italian Vogue magazine.

Rihanna was honoured for her charity work, pop success and her ability to tackle adversity in personal life, including troubled relationships with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown and drug addict father Ronald Fenty.

"Independent, energetic, the young Robyn Rihanna Fenty (only 23) is our woman of the year, and not just by virtue of numbers and figures but also, and foremost, for her kind and fighting spirit," contactmusic.com quoted a spokesperson from the magazine as saying.

"The same spirit that brought her from Barbados to the top of the music charts achieving a career which she has forged and mastered completely by herself (whose last move was to become the new ambassador for Armani)," it said.

"Rihanna is the undisputed best contender to the role of queen of pop. Her career has always been based on the cunning use of sexiness and provocation.

"She has managed to cultivate her career despite the many tragedies affecting her private life: from her father's addiction to crack ... to the violence caused to her in 2009 by her then-boyfriend, Chris," the spokesperson added.

Rihanna had first graced the cover of the fashion magazine in September 2009.

Rihanna plays down New York concert attack

Rihanna has attempted to play down an altercation with a male fan during a New York concert.

The Barbadian singer was performing her single 'S&M' on the streets of the Big Apple for Friday's edition of the Today show when a member of the crowd grabbed her and pulled her into specially erected metal barriers.

The 23-year-old was quickly released, unharmed, from the man's grip by her accompanying dancers and escorted to the main stage outside the city's iconic Rockefeller Centre.

Despite the sudden and shocking nature of her attack, the star appeared to recover quickly and later joked about the incident on Twitter.

When asked by a follower what was going through her mind during the on-air clash, Rihanna replied: "sumn like 'THIS muhf**ka better not f**k up my weave'" (sic).

Rihanna went on to perform her hits 'Only Girl (In The World)', 'What's My Name' and 'California King Bed' during the special gig, which launched the NBC programme's 'summer concert series'.

During her Today stint, Rihanna also brushed off criticism of her "overtly-sexualised" duet with Britney Spears at last weekend's Billboard Awards.

Rihanna's 'Man Down' video is "shocking"

Rihanna's new music video for her upcoming single 'Man Down' has been branded "shocking" by its director.
Anthony Mandler, who also directed Rihanna's recent 'California King Bed' video, has revealed that the promo for 'Man Down' will be "intense".

"We shot the video last month in Jamaica and it's my favourite song she's ever recorded so I was really excited to get involved," Mandler told MTV.

"It's just one of those songs that demands a strong narrative and visual, and let's just say she let me go all the way."

The track, which features on Rihanna's fifth studio album Loud, is about a woman who has been betrayed by her man and ends up murdering him.

Lyrics include: "Cause I didn't mean to hurt him/ Coulda been somebody's son/ And I took his heart when/ I pulled out that gun."

Mandler continued to insist that the video stays true to the content of the song, stating: "I think you can expect something that's dramatic and shocking and intense and emotional and uplifting and enlightening. Without saying too much, if you're looking for a narrative you're not going to be disappointed. Just know that it's going to be exciting."

Rihanna backs expiry of ex's restraining order

R and B singer Rihanna has said that she is relieved now that the restraining order handed to her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown has expired.

The actress has admitted that she never wanted their fight to impede his music career.

"What he did to me was a personal thing; it had nothing to do with his career," the Daily Express quoted the 23-year-old as saying.

"Saying he has to be 100 feet away from me, he can't perform at award shows – that definitely made it difficult for him," she added.

After Brown assaulted Rihanna, in 2009 he was hit with a strict order meaning the pair could not be at the same events.
Brown, 21, is on probation and is allowed near Rihanna as long as he does not harass her.

Rihanna claims fifth UK No. 1 single

Rihanna has notched up the fifth UK number one single of her career with 'What's My Name?'

The Barbadian singer has become the first female artist in history to achieve five number ones in consecutive years, starting with mammoth hit 'Umbrella' in 2007. The only other performer to have achieved this feat is the legendary Elvis Presley, who scored a number one in every year from 1957 to 1963.

Rihanna's success means that Matt Cardle dips to the runner-up spot this week with 'When We Collide', having successfully managed to hold his X Factor duet partner from the top of the chart for the last three weeks.

Katy B and Miss Dynamite yo-yo back from last week's 11 to their original position of four with 'Lights On', while Jessie J celebrates being named as the BBC's Sound Of 2011 by seeing her track 'Do It Like A Dude' rocket into the top ten for the first time, landing at five from 18.

Meanwhile, Rihanna continues her chart dominance as previous number one 'Only Girl (In The World)' and her David Guetta collaboration 'Who's That Chick?' hold steady at the back end of the top ten.

Looking beyond the upper section of the chart, Willow Smith's 'Whip My Hair' and Take That's 'The Flood' slip out of the top ten after losing four and seven places respectively to finish at 13 and 14.

The depths of the top 20, however, are this week home to three climbers in the form of 'The Flood' by Cheryl Cole, which is up 12 to 18, 'Raise Your Glass' by Pink, which rises from 21 to 19, and Alexis Jordan's 'Happiness', up four places to 20.

The top ten in full:

1. (2) Rihanna ft. Drake: 'What's My Name?'
2. (1) Matt Cardle: 'When We Collide'
3. (3) Black Eyed Peas: 'The Time (Dirty Bit)'
4. (11) Katy B ft. Miss Dynamite: 'Lights On'
5. (18) Jessie J: 'Do It Like A Dude'
6. (4) Ellie Goulding: 'Your Song'
7. (5) Katy Perry: 'Firework'
8. (8) Far East Movement: 'Like A G6'
9. (6) Rihanna: 'Only Girl (In The World)'
10. (13) David Guetta ft. Rihanna: 'Who's That Chick?'

Rihanna rules the British music charts

LONDON: US singer Rihanna is ruling the British music charts after landing the number one single and album in the same week.

The 22-year-old star topped the charts with her new single What's My Name, featuring Drake, after beating off competition from X Factor winner Matt Cardle, The Black Eyed Peas and Katy B with their tracks.

Her single Only Girl In The World is also still in the top ten and is at ninth place while she also featured on David Guetta's track, Who's That Chick?, which is at tenth place.

Meanwhile in the album charts her new album Loud sits in first place after beating Plan B to number two and Take That to third place.

Rihanna "grateful" for 'Umbrella' song

Rihanna has revealed that she is "grateful" to have recorded her hit record 'Umbrella'.

The singer, whose song topped the UK chart for ten weeks, admitted that the song helped boost her music career, as well as landing her a huge endorsement deal.

"I did have a deal with an umbrella company and they had a range of very good umbrellas,"she told Q magazine.

"This is kind of weird because I grew up in Barbados and there’s not a great culture of umbrellas like there is in the UK and Europe. I guess we have the occasional storm or maybe the Caribbean is more known for its hurricanes and an umbrella isn’t going to get you very far in a situation like that.

"But, yes, I have a few umbrellas. Maybe ten? I dunno, but I am very grateful to the umbrella for what it has done for my career."

Rihanna recently celebrated impressive sales of her latest record Loud, which shifted over 300,000 copies in seven days in the UK alone.

Rihanna and Matt Kemp split!

It seems that the real reason for the split is cheating on both sides!

The singer and Los Angeles Dodgers star had dated for nearly a year; they first got together in Mexico in January.

Unfortunately, their hectic lives made it impossible to stay together. "He just can't keep up with her crazy travel schedule," one source the magazine.

"Matt's sick of always following after her like a puppy dog all over the world. He wants something more normal," the source adds.

Apparently, the break is relatively recent; "It happened over the last few weeks," the source said. "She basically was just over it."

This may dash Rihanna's hypothetical pregnancy plans; in November, she said she could be pregnant soon.

Rihanna 'sick of talking about Brown'

Rihanna has revealed that she is constantly asked about her abusive relationship with Chris Brown but has no interest in discussing it.

Replying to a tweet from a fan who urged the singer to stop talking about her ex-boyfriend, the popstar insisted that she finds journalists' continual questions about him "annoying".

In response to the tweet, she wrote: "AGREED! People won't stop askin abt it! Its f**kin annoying!

"Nobody wants to relive that, but some ppl can't respect that!

She added: "I get it, they wanna raise awareness to young girls! But it ends up just makin me look bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry!"

Rihanna tops Billboard’s hot 100 singles chart again

R&B singer Rihanna knows her game very well and she is one lucky girl, who has got back her top spot at Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart this week again with her ‘Only Girl’ number. If we go 10 weeks back, the ‘Only Girl’ was at top three during its debut and now after many ups and downs, it has managed to reach the highest level. Once, it went as low as being at eighth position but now ‘all is all’ and ‘Only Girl’ is ruling the chart.

And, the credit can be given to Rihanna’s another chart topper ‘What’s My Name’, which entered the top scenario just two weeks back. It’s a record because in the 52-year history of the Hot 100, an album’s debut single has first time reached number 1 following the second single.

Katy Perry is also having good time as her ‘Firework’ has jumped three positions from No 9 to No. 6. The list of this week’s top singles in the Billboard chart goes like this- Only Girl (Rihanna), ‘Raise Your Glass’ (Pink), ‘Like A G6’(East Movement featuring Cataracs and Dev), ‘We R Who We R’ (Ke$ha), ‘Just A Dream’ (Nelly), ‘Firework’ (Katy Perry), ‘Just The Way You Are’ (Bruno Mars), ‘What’s My Name?’ (Rihanna), ‘F**k You’ (Ceelo Green), ‘Bottoms Up’ (Nicki Minaj).

Rihanna 'confused by West interview'

Rihanna was reportedly left confused after Kanye West interviewed her for a new magazine feature.

The pair's chat is featured in the latest edition of Interview. However, the rapper apparently asked Rihanna a series of strange questions that she seemed unsure how to answer.

West asked: "Do you know any famous people now?" to which the singer replied: "Huh?"

He then went on to describe a bright pink tank prop that the 22-year-old recently used on stage as a metaphor for the "American Dream" and a "great piece of commercial pop art". Rihanna responded: "I never actually thought of it like that."

The 33-year-old also asked: "How does it feel to know that you could have any man in the world? Or woman. How does it feel to know that you can turn straight women gay?"

Rihanna answered: "Is that a real question?"

I could be pregnant by next year, says Rihanna

In an interview, Rihanna has hinted that motherhood may soon be on the horizon.
"I don''t really plan on the age. It could be a year from now. It could be 10 years from now. Whenever is right," UsMagazine.com quoted her as saying.

"I mean, I have a lot of other stuff to accomplish before I get to kids. Whenever the time is right, I''ll just know."

The pop star, who began dating L.A. Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp in January, wants an all-male household.

"If I had a girl, she''d probably be really rebellious," the singer laughed.

"She would be like a bundle of karma."

As for where she would raise her brood, Rihanna says she "would love to bring them up in Barbados," though her job may prevent that from becoming a reality.

"I can''t live that far away from everything now, without kids," she explains.

"So I certainly couldn''t raise kids and [have a career] with the demanding schedule that I have," she added.

Rihanna confirms next UK single release

Rihanna has confirmed the date for her next UK single release.

'What's My Name?' - a collaboration with rapper Drake - marks the second cut from her Loud album, and will be released on January 10.

Discussing the track - which has already topped the charts in the US - producer L.A Reid said in a press release: "Rihanna is a true original, a gifted hitmaker, with a style and a musical flair of her own.

"We really honed in the songs and expressions that would bring out the best in her already incredible gift. I am especially proud of this project, as I feel it perhaps best captures her spirit and essence of Rihanna."

Loud is on course to take second place on this Sunday's album chart, with predicted sales of 70,000.

Rihanna refuses Playboy offer

Singer Rihanna has refused to pose for Playboy.

"I got a few offers to do Playboy. They want to pay you to be naked on the cover," aceshowbiz.com quoted her as saying.

"If I'm gonna take my clothes off, it has to be in a classy way and my will, not a cheque. I wouldn't take any money to do that," Rihanna added.

Rihanna misses Perry, Brand wedding?

Katy Perry's close friend Rihanna was not present at her wedding to Russell Brand this weekend, according to reports.

E! says that the 'Only Girl (In The World)' singer and boyfriend Matt Kemp were invited to the lavish Indian ceremony, but did not attend.

A source close to baseball player Kemp told the network that the couple's absence was down to "a last-minute change of plans" which created a conflict in Rihanna's work schedule.

The insider explained: "He was telling me [last] Saturday that he was leaving the country for a week with Rihanna. But then on Tuesday, he told me they weren't going."

Rihanna was rumoured to be Perry's maid of honour, and previously hosted a Las Vegas bachelorette party for the 'Teenage Dream' performer.

A spokesperson for Rihanna did not comment on the reports.

Rihanna video 'leaks' on to internet

Rihanna has claimed that her new song and music video were leaked on to the internet without permission.
The new track, called 'Who's That Chick', premiered online over the weekend along with its music video.

Rihanna's label has since released a statement via Twitter insisting that the clip was "a leak". It also revealed that the song was due to be issued as a promotional club single later this year.

"It’s a leak. Def Jam is pulling it down as fast as possible. The song is not a single - for the clubs only," SRP Records said.

"The album is still being put together - many songs in the mix. Can't answer for sure if it is on the album."

Rihanna also took to Twitter to address news of the video's leak, posting: "'Who's that Chick' is an online music video/commercial that we shot for Doritos and it got leaked...

"I don't want u to get confused... doritos is in no way connected to LOUD".

Rihanna releases Loud in the US on November 16.

Rihanna enjoys shooting for Battleship

Singer Rihanna says she is “really enjoying” shooting for her debut sci-fi film Battleship, but claims her co-star Aleksander Skarsgard is "not very talkative".

"It's really good, really good. I'm really enjoying it actually. I like it,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.

"Aleksander is really cool, just laid-back. He doesn't get in the way. He's not very talkative, but he's a really cool guy and that's to everybody - not just the cast," she said.

Actors Liam Neeson and Brooklyn Decker also play important roles in the film, which is being directed by Peter Berg.

The movie follows a group of naval ships fighting off an alien invasion looking for something beneath the Earth's oceans.

Katy wants Rihanna to strip

Pop singer Katy Perry has revealed that she wants pal Rihanna to strip at her bachelorette party.

Perry, who is set to tie the knot with British funnyman Russell Brand, has given the responsibility of organizing a pre-wedding party to Rihanna.

“Rihanna has all these ideas about everything. You see people coming and they strip at your bachelor party but I want her to strip at my bachelorette party. She’s going to get the message right now. She’s hot, I love her. She’s just the coolest chick and I want all of her clothes. We have a lot in common. We like to hang out every once in awhile; sometimes we’ll see each other at different events,” the Daily Telegraph quoted Perry as saying.

“I don’t know if she started this rumour that she’s going to do it (the bachelorette party) or if she just hopped on the bandwagon of the rumors like, ‘I’m going to do it!’ That’s the one thing that I don’t have to plan, which I’m really excited about,” Perry added.

Rihanna gets waxwork at Madame Tussauds

Rihanna has become the latest celebrity to be immortalised in wax by Madame Tussauds.

The figurine of the 'Russian Roulette' star is scheduled to be unveiled at the museum's Washington DC branch today, according to The AP.

It depicts the Barbados-born popstar wearing a black jacket, black corset top, shiny black pants and black high heels, while her hair is short and blonde. She is not expected to attend the unveiling ceremony.

The waxwork will be located in the museum's Glamour Room, which reportedly houses other waxworks including Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez.
