Poor WiFi Connectivity Not Helping Apple iPad Users

Since the launch of the highly anticipated Apple iPad tablet device, there has been a flurry of high praises and the claims of the iPad being a revolution being a tool that would revolutionize the mobile computing domain. Besides the immensely bright capacitive touch screen and being a tad over weight at 1.5 pounds, there seemed to no issues with the iPad.


But, that doesn’t seem to be the case as more and more iPad users have been flooding the Apple Support website with the complaints of faulty wifi connectivity. Wif was said to one of the most crucial factors that made the iPad such rave even before it got launched. Most of the complaints in regards to wifi state that the device constantly displays weak signal or no signal at all, when other wifi enabled devices connect to the networks without any problems.

WiFi connectivity issues aren’t new to Apple devices, as the early editions of the Macbook Air was also reported to be experiencing extreme WiFi anomalies and while the iPad seems to an incredible device, yet with such issues plaguing the user experience, it could turn into a disaster for Apple Inc. There are also notions that, such connectivity issues as in the iPhone and Macbook Air are more hardware related and not software. This in turn could further make the situation a more complex one for Apple, as the user confidence will take huge hit and could result to a drastic drop in iPad sales.

According to one user,

“Having this issue with my iPad as well. It’s dropping down to one bar in a part of the house the most other devices, including my MBP and my iPhone, get full service. The WiFi is so dense in our house that I often get signal outside on most of my devices. The iPad’s WiFi antenna is like the new iMacs – it’s centrally located behind the Apple logo, and it’s tiny. The difference is the iMac’s Apple logo isn’t usually resting on something; the iPad’s usually is.”
