Actress Jennifer Carpenter, who stars in the TV hit series 'Dexter,' on Thursday filed for divorce from co-star Michael C. Hall, TMZ.com reported on Friday.

Even though the petition was filed on Thursday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the document shows a date of separation between Carpenter, 31, and Hall, 39, of August 9.

In the document, Carpenter cites "irreconcilable differences" and asks for spousal support and for attorney's fees. The couple had been married since 2008, but have no children

Carpenter first gathered nation-wide attention after portraying Emily Rose in 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' in 2006, and she currently plays the role of Debra Morgan on Showtime's 'Dexter.' Hall plays the role of her adoptive brother, Dexter Morgan.

Michael and Jennifer want have nothing to do with the divorce herself

Yesterday I commented on the divorce of actor Michael C. Hall and actress Jennifer Carpenter (Featured in the series 'Dexter'), is also rumored that Michael sought solace in the arms of actress Julia StilesBut Julia denies that she has something to do with the divorce.

"I have absolutely nothing to do with separation between Michael and Jennifer. We are good Friends and enjoy working together “Stiles said in a statement to clarify things.

"This is an issue personal among them, and we respect their privacy. Although I also prefer to keep my private life private, I felt compelled to dispel rumors that some how were the cause of this issue "He said.

Now everything is clear, Julia is not the cause of divorce between the actors and perhaps Michael is often very affectionate with her while filming rest but that's it, at least that Stiles has, we believe him.
