The World's First USB 3.0 Pico-projector Solution Announced by Himax Technologies

Pico projectors are extraordinarily compact projectors that can throw a pretty big picture on to any flat surface. Since they are so small, they really are starting to crop up in some of the most amazing products such as camcorders, still cameras etc.

The world's first USB 3.0 pico-projector solution, announced by Himax Technologies, combines SVGA (800 by 600) high-resolution LCOS microdisplays with a USB 3.0 chip ET12U320A from Evolution Technology.  

The unit can be powered through devices such as desktops or notebooks via USB, without the need for an additional external power supply. Numerous notebook vendors are already showing strong interest in adopting the pico-projector solution, the company claimed.

Mitsubishi Diamond 3D Projector: Soon At CES 2011 - - Offers A Picture up to 100 Inches With reflective LCD Light Engine

Mitsubishi will exhibit a new projector at the 2011 International CES show. The Mitsubishi Diamond 3D Projector includes a reflective LCD light engine that offers a picture of up to 100’’. 

  The 3D HD projector offers a contrast ratio of 120,000:1 with a resolution of 1080p and provides a noise-free operation. The bulb included in the projector has an operating life of about 4,000 h.

 Mitsubishi’s Diamond 3D projector weighs about 33 lbs and has two HDMI 1.4 inputs that support 3D and 2D. The light engine can hide the screen to provide a less-cinema-like home experience.

AAXA Laser L1 Pico Projector: Updated Version Released - - Thickness Increased With Substantial Price Decrease

Few days back AAXA M2 Micro Projector was featured here. Now AAXA have taken no time updating their L1 Laser Pico Projector. The first version only released in July 2010 has now been updated and launched.

The specification sof the new version are similar to the original with a 20 lumens projector with a resolution of 800×600. The main difference is the thermal efficiency of the PCOS laser light engine.

What does this mean? Well the device has now become a little thicker but the main advantage to consumers is the $200 price drop from $599 to a more affordable $399 selling price. More information on the AAXA L1 Pico projector can be found on the  AAXA website.

Viewsonic Rebrands 3M Camcorder Projector - - Rebranded Version of 3M Camcorder Projector Shoot ‘n Share CP40 Devin

After reviewing the 3M Camcorder Projector Shoot ‘n Share CP40 Devin over at Crunch gear noticed that Viewsonic’s new DVP5 camcorder is a rebranded version of it.

Guessing that both preform the same if you are interested in either of the camcorder projectors the support 720p video at a resolution of 640 x 480 and are equipped with a 14-lumen bulb. They record at 1280 x 720 and are capable of taking 5 megapixel still photos.

They both have touch sensitive control panels and the internal battery provides about 2 hours of life to the device before a recharge. Its produces a projection of up to 165cm (65″) image size on white wall and the R.G.B LED technology will provide up to 20,000 hours of use.
