If you've ever fought to store your bike in a hallway, on a train, or anywhere where space is at a premium, you've probably cursed your handlebars. So necessary while in motion, on a parked bike they turn out to be remarkably cumbersome, sticking out as they do. But a new design, the Flipphandle, does what its name says: it allows you to turn the handlebars 90° to line up with the frame, without turning the front wheel. Problem solved.

We've featured a lot of clever ways to store bikes, from a shelf that holds books and bikes to a system that puts the bike at the top of a light pole, to making robots do all the work. These ideas all work to mitigate the cumbersome nature of a parked bike, but the Flipphandle is the first design (apart from folding bikes) that makes the bike itself easier to store.

Designed by Alejandro Lacreu, the Flipphandle, which on its own looks resembles the hilt of a lightsaber, replaces the handlebar stem and can be installed on any bike. Check out the promotional video:

Are you the kind of person that loves to go hiking, but gets bored by the time you get to the top? After all, going down is generally easier than climbing up, so what’s the fun in the return trip? One company thinks that the solution to this is to bike downhill. Of course, to do this you’ll need a bike that’s compact and light enough to be carried all the way to the top. That bike is the Bergmönch.

This strange bike (if you can call it that, as it doesn’t appear to have any pedals) folds up and is attached to a backpack, which you will carry with you. This frees up your hands and feet for doing all of the necessary things that comes with hiking. The company claims that it is “ultra-low weight,” but I couldn’t find any actual numbers to support this. If you relish the idea of carrying a small bike up a mountain, then riding it back down, then such a thing will set you back $2.150.

The bike is built around a Moto Martin frame, which has been fitted with a Suzuki 1230cc GSX 1135 motor engine, a Ducati single-sided swing arm and custom-made fenders, exhaust, handlebars and seats. The piece’s unusual paint combination gives it an absolutely fresh look. The design of the Custom Wolf ‘Scoop’ is inspired from old American muscle cars, giving it an overall vintage feel.

The One bike is a lightweight roadster made of titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber, making it a very high-performance motorbike.

The high speed bike consists a Harley Davidson engine, which increases its power to 110hp. This original bike carries a cool price of $145,000 and services for this street-legal bike are available at any Harley Davidson dealer.

Mexican designer Andrés Alvarez has conceived a velocycle called the Mamba that will make gravity biking safer, while at the same time enhancing the rider’s experience of gravity biking.

The Mamba gravity bike is made from some lightweight materials, enabling the rider to control the bike with ease. The bike is designed so that riders of the Mamba will keep their bodies close to the ground, which gives them the feeling of “flying over the pavement,” according to The Design Blog.

‘The Beast’: Latest Eco-friendly Bike Out There Marketed by M55

Electric bikes are catching up these days. Thanks to the eco-friendly bikers out there, the electric bike is not considered trendy anymore, but fashionable. Here is another bike on the market by M55 called ‘The Beast’. People have said that it isn’t a very good looking bike. I beg to differ though. I agree that there is scope to make the design a little less ‘heavy’. But otherwise I think it isn’t so bad.

The motor power and battery capacity of ‘the beast’ is supposed to be better than the current industry standards. The manufacturers say that though it may look like a downhill bike, it is not. It can climb up very well. This bike can attain top speeds upto 40 miles per hour. Thanks to its onboard polymer Li-ion battery this bike can go as far as 75 miles on a single charge. Weighing in at 33 Kg, it is quite heavy for a bike, but then it is an electric bike.

It is made of 7075 Aluminum, combined with Fox 36 160 Talas Fit RLC Fork, Brembo front and rear brakes, Syncros FR saddle, Syncros Meathook, Syncros Carbon Seat post, KMC X1 chain and Rohloff twist shifter. Not so bad I would say.

The enthusiastic people at the Hell For Leather magazine have now gotten their hands on some new information in regards to the Diavel, before the bike’s official unveiling ceremony at the EICMA or the Milan Motorcycle Show.


Ducati, it seems has spared no efforts in creating a highly versatile speed demon in the form of Diavel, while adding a more technology driven edge to the bike, there by making it a highly sought after motorcycle. The Ducati Diavel provides and incredible 162 horsepower of raw energy, along with 94 pound-feet of torque and weighs only 456 pounds. The Italian motorcycle behemoth has also planned to introduce another variant of the Diavel, called Ducati Diavel Carbon, that will primarily be composed of carbon fiber, thereby reducing the overall weight of the bike by an additional seven pounds. Also, as far as technology is concerned, Ducati has instilled some of the coolest features into the Diavel, including, ride-by-wire throttle system, traction control, anti-lock brakes, a keyless ignition and a tank-mounted, light-sensing TFT display. However, one of the most eye catching and appealing of all aesthetics of the Diavel is the humongous 240 millimeter wide tire.

Believe it or not, but this custom built chopper will really set the pulses racing while on the move. Dubbed Gustav Skippone, the motorbike is from Belarus-based custom builder, Yuri Shif and is owned by Vladimir Kristovskiy.





Gustav is the follow up to the controversial ‘DUster’ and features S&S-engine and unusual pale paintwork but blended perfectly with retro-inspired cream color. Powering Gustav Skippone is a 107ci S&S V-twin motor that conduits approximately 95hp through a Baker 6-speed gear box and Continental rubber. The other components created and added by YSC are fuel tank, swingarm and softail frame. Added also is a classic Harley-Davidson Springer handling suspension duties up front.

M55 Bike EVO-001: Trendy Electric Bike Unveiled by Hungarian Company M55 - - Claimed to be The “Ferrari of Electric Bikes”

Hungarian company M55 has unveiled the M55 Bike EVO-001 electric bike that is being claimed to be the “Ferrari of electric bikes”. The bike has been developed after three years of research and after developing five prototypes. Scheduled to be launched some time in May this year, the bike consists of a one-piece molded aluminum frame, integrated battery pack and a centrally mounted motor which has been placed to better the bike’s stability.

The bike will be unveiled in two variants, the street legal one will get a 250W motor and an off-road version will include a powerful 1300W motor. Neither of them features a manual accelerator and the motor speed is controlled by the speed at which the user is pedaling. Both the bikes will be powered by 20.7Ah 39.6V battery packs, which propel the sport variant to a top speed of 43mph.
