Australian Wines Topped in The Medal List in International Wine & Spirits Competition

Australia has taken huge strides in the field of winemaking in recent years. This fact was established beyond doubt when the International Wine & Spirits Competition announced their awards for the Southern Hemisphere. Australia’s mastery of winemaking was recognized worldwide when it cornered a staggering 568 medals in all. They received 27 Gold which were the Best in the class awards. In addition they received six other gold level awards. No other country had a gold haul as large as Australia.

It was Shiraz and Semillon who did Australia proud and cornered most of the awards received by the country. New Zealand also received 160 medals to boost the claim of the Asia/Pacific region as premier winemakers. South Africa was a worthy runner up to Australia with a total of 367 medals including five gold level awards. Australia tripped only in the Chardonnay category. Only one of the Australian Chardonnays could get a medal.

The International Wine and Spirit Competition is the most prestigious and credible competition of its kind. They have been holding this competition since 1969 where they blind taste the wines, spirits and liqueurs and select them for awards on a points system. The categories are subdivided on the basis of variety, region and vintage.

Educated and Intelligent Women More Likely to Indulge in Excessive Drinking - - Revealed by a Study Conducted at London School of Economics

A recent study conducted by the London School of Economics reveal that educated women are more likely to indulge in excessive drinking.

The researches conducted this study on around 1000 people born in 1970 in the same week. It was interesting to see that, according to their research, they could predict the women’s alcohol drinking pattern at the age of 5 years itself. Those who scored high scores and medium scores, they were more likely to drink more frequently later in their lives.

Another interesting finding of the research was that 86 % women who had degrees were frequent drinkers than those with none. 71 % of the women who had some kind of educational qualification were also more likely to have drinking habits. Many women with drinking problems were also found to have children late in their lives or were from middle-class family with parents who drank often. Others had active social life, male dominated workplace, and stressful professional lives. Women were found to drink heavily in their thirties.

It’s rather surprising that educated and smart women, who were more than capable of understanding the ill effects of alcohol abuse, were the ones to succumb to it.

Eco-Friendly Brand '360 Vodka' Extending its Branches into Two Flavors – Cola and Double Chocolate

And there we heard someone talk about how vodka doesn’t really have a taste of its own. As in you always need to concoct it with a strong flavored accompaniment to add flavor to the smoothness of this popular liquor. But looks like someone was so so wrong. Ask 360 Vodka and they will elaborate. This eco-friendly brand has been talked about before but now it has garnered a lot of buzz all over again for extending its branches into two flavors – cola and double chocolate.

These two are the new vodkas from their brewries and 70 proof. The bottles continue with the same look as the original 85 per cent that we have learned to love so much. By the way, they use recycled glass and a signature unique closure.

Might we add, both the new flavors have been touched with natural tastes and delicious smells. The cola vodka is dark in a gorgeous shade of caramel while the double chocolate is surprisingly clear (when we were expected something close to the chocolate-y brown we love to binge on). Experts have given them a thumbs up with a B+ grade. The bottles come quite cheap at $20. Worth a try, we guess!

Plus it also comes sitting in a unique box, which is limited edition too. Lagerfeld has also discreetly hidden a bottle opener in a drawer.

Then there is more. Lagerfeld has not just designed the diet cola’s aluminum bottle but has also shot the ad campaign. He is sure a man with multiple talents.

The ad features Coco Rocha and Baptiste Giabiconi sipping/holding the limited edition Coca Cola Light bottle. Rocha is seen hoisting the bottle in Lagerfeld’s favorite Lalique glass (which he himself uses to drink the soft drink for it really accentuates the taste) wearing fingerless gloves whiles Giabiconi plays the stylist waiter.

Crown Royal Black Canadian Whiskey - - Price Doesn't Matter for Luxurious So Get a Bottle Only For $30

Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey is one of the more prominent Whiskey manufacturers in the world. There is nothing better than some whiskey and ice cubes in the glass. If you did not know, most people add water into whiskey which ruins the taste. Whiskey must be had with just ice cubes. They have launched the Crown Royal Black which is dark and deep.

This Canadian whiskey is bended at 90 proof and is aged in charred oak barrels. The bottles cost just $30 and thus those who think price matters to be luxurious would be disappointed. This amazing whiskey is more than the price and if you need a whiskey with diamond caps and golden bottles it certainly is not what you might be looking for.

Crown Royal Black may be cheap and inexpensive but it tastes good, and smells awesome and would still give you the same high that you might get from drinking one of the ridiculously expensive whiskeys. After all, it is the taste, smell and the experience that matter, and when this gives you all why bother about its cheap price? In fact, you should gladly buy it!
